‘Fast And Furious 9’: Movie Ending Explained

‘Fast and furious 9’ left several doors open for more stories to be developed in the saga and various characters should face the consequences of their actions in the future. That is why the ending is worth explaining.

We had to wait longer than originally planned, but finally Fast and Furious 9 reached movie theaters in Mexico and the world to introduce a new character: Jakob (John Cena), who indirectly forces his brother Dom (Vin Diesel) to reunite the group to return to save the world once more. However, in the end some unknowns were left open, so it is worth explaining the events.

After Jakob was betrayed by Otto (Thue Ersted Rasmussen) and taken out of the plan to use the Aries Project, Dom took pity on his brother and decides to give him a little hand so that he would not get very hurt from their fight above the “armadillo” (name of the huge vehicle in which they were trying to use the device). After foiling his plan, Dom mentions to his brother: “Someone once gave me a 10-second car as a second chance. I owe it to you, little brother ”.

Those words refer to Fast and Furious, when Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) allowed Dominic to escape at the end of the film by handing him the 10-second car he owed him. This situation could allow the return of Jakob for the last two installments of the sagaPerhaps already as an ally of his brother, finally, he would not be the first character whose initial plan is to eliminate the team of protagonists directly or indirectly, but later he joins them. The door was left wide open and Jakob may not want to owe Dom a favor, not to mention that Mia (Jordana Brewster) doesn’t want him that far from her anymore.

Jakob Toretto somehow made the passes with his brother Dom.

Otto’s betrayal of Jakob was partly caused by Cipher (Charlize Theron), who seemed defeated by being locked in a transparent box, however, was actually waiting for the right moment, and for them to do all the heavy lifting, so that she could reveal her true alliance with the millionaire character who financed Jakob, in fact, this The latter never really got along with Cipher.

Cipher was released at the end of ‘Fast and Furious 9’.

Although for a few moments we were led to believe that Cipher had been killed in the crash of one of his planes, he was actually piloting it remotely. The bad news for the team led by Dom is that he was released and it is very likely that he wants to eliminate them, although now for much more personal reasons, finally, they have already frustrated their plans twice. As Charlize Theron is in charge of playing the villain, it is logical to think that they are not going to waste a superstar, it is even rumored that there are plans to give her her own spin-off, although there is no green light yet for the project.

With the knowledge that the franchise of Fast and furious will end in movie 11, Cipher is likely to continue as the main villain until then. It has the financing, the knowledge and the appropriate technology, let alone to conquer the world, but to be a much tougher rival to beat for the protagonists. Perhaps we will see her win in the tenth installment, and then finally fall in the eleventh, something like what we saw in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame: first the triumph of the antagonist and then the resurgence of the heroes.

Cipher could return in more “Fast and Furious” installments.

Although Paul Walker passed away in 2013, Justin Lin, director of Fast and furious 9, confessed that for the history of the saga the character of the actor, Brian O’Conner, still aliveEven in the tape it was revealed that during the main actions he took care of his two children and little Brian, Dom’s son. The director has also confessed on several occasions that he is looking for a way to pay respectful tribute to him with the films and the ninth installment is no exception.

The final scene features an empty spot at Dominic’s family table and suddenly a blue car appears. It can be inferred that it is Brian O’Conner who has come to meet his people after they finished the mission. We do not see who was driving the car, but since Mia is the one who answers about the absence, they throw another clue that it is her husband in fiction. Obviously, this leaves the door open again for somehow to at least keep mentioning Brian.

The mid-credits scene from Fast and furious 9 move the tiles in the main story, bringing back Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), who starred opposite Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) in the spin-off: Hobbs and Shaw. Things turn ant-colored for him as he receives a visit from Han (Sung Kang), whom he had allegedly killed by causing the accident and subsequent explosion of the car in which he was traveling during Fast and Furious: Tokyo Challenge.

Deckard Shaw reunites with Han in the post-credit scene of ‘Fast and Furious 9’.

Obviously both characters have accounts to settle, including the death of Gisele (Gal Gadot) which was indirectly also the fault of the Shaws. With this in mind, in the last two films in the saga we are likely to see the confrontation between Han and Deckard, the question now is who will bow first?
