Even more awards for Ted Lasso and Apple TV +

Ted Lasso was awarded 4 new awards at the Emmy Awards:

  • Outstanding Comedy: Best Comedy Series
  • Oustanding Actor in a Comedy Series: Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series
  • Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
  • Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series: Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

That’s not all, 3 more awards are to the credit of the successful Apple TV + series, delivered by the Television Critics Association, including the best new program and the program of the year.

At last Ted Lasso was also honored within the framework of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, sister ceremony of the Primetime Emmy Awards (the most important ceremony) emphasizing in particular the sound, the image and the creativity of the productions.

Other Apple TV + content shone at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including Boys State, awarded the prize for best documentary, but also Carpool Karaoke, awarded the prize for the best short format.

Ted Lasso’s casting takes it to the next level

The success of Ted Lasso comes at a cost to Apple. The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that the cast of the series will be paid much more in the future and especially for season 3. The production of this one would even be delayed following intense salary negotiations. Upon arrival, Jason Sudekis for example, will be paid $ 1 million per episode now, when for the episodes of seasons 1 and 2, his salary reached “only” 250,000 dollars. For supporting roles, the increase is less impressive, but still notable. Actors like Juno Temple or Hannah Waddingham go from 75 to 150,000 dollars.

New trailers for Apple TV +

And Finch, new science fiction film with Tom Hanks:

Raymond and Ray: filming begins soon

The film Raymond and Ray tells the story of two half-brothers meeting at their father’s funeral. On this occasion, they will have to face the return of their father’s troubled past, and learn to tame his heritage, in laughter, pain and friendship. Worn by Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke, this work promises! But we will have to wait a while before being able to enjoy it on Apple TV +, the shooting has not yet started. It is scheduled to take place this fall in the state of Virginia in the United States.

Christopher Nolan, too greedy for Apple TV +

According to The Holly Reporter, the director ofInterstellar and of Memento would be a few months ago entered into negotiations with Apple TV + for the distribution of its next big film. Unfortunately for Tim Cook, Christopher Nolan’s demands were too high. These included a budget of $ 200 million (half for production, half for marketing), full artistic control, 20% copyright and a three-week period before and after the release of the film during which no other film should be released. The offer from Universal studios would have validated each of these points, since the interested party finally joined them.

Swan Song will be released in theaters first

Apple wants to qualify Swan Song for the Oscar race. For this reason, the film should be released in theaters on December 17th before being available on Apple TV +. Swan Song tells the story of a man at the end of his life, ready to do anything to make his loved ones happy.
