Gaga Muhammad Objects to Public Prosecutor’s Claim, Calls Laura Anna Negligent: Okezone Celebrity

JAKARTAGaga Muhammad | undergoing a follow-up trial for a traffic accident case at the East Jakarta District Court, on Monday (11/1/2022). The trial was scheduled to read the plea or memorandum of defense of the defendant.

The pledoi reading was carried out by Fahmi Bahmid on behalf of the client before the panel of judges. He expressed his objection to the prosecutor’s demands in the form of a sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 million.

According to Gaga, negligence is not only centered on him. The late Laura Anna was also judged to have made negligence because she did not use a seat belt in the car.

“In the facts of the trial that among those that resulted in serious injury and paralysis to the victim Laura Edelenyi was not solely my negligence, but other parties as well,” said Gaga Muhammad.

He added, “When an accident occurs, the victim does not use a seat belt, as is mandatory when driving. The victim only uses the upper rope, while the lower rope has not been attached to the stomach.”

The element of negligence is considered to have made Laura Anna’s wound condition worse than that of Gaga Muhammad. This was evidenced by the post-mortem evidence that there were no injuries to the abdomen or waist as evidence of the use of seat belts.

“So for this negligence the victim suffered serious injuries while I, who was wearing a seat belt perfectly, suffered minor injuries,” said Gaga.

In the continuation of her plea, Gaga revealed that she had reminded Laura Anna to use seat belts. However, the deceased did not heed the warning.

Laura Anna and Gaga Muhammad were involved in a traffic accident on December 8, 2019. As a result of the accident, the deceased suffered a spinal cord injury or spinal cord injury that caused paralysis.

Judging to have no good faith in the incident, the late Gaga reported to the police and the case was transferred to the East Jakarta District Attorney, on October 21, 2021.

Awkarin’s former lover was charged under Article 310 paragraph 3 of Law Number 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transport. The prosecutor charged Gaga Muhammad with a sentence of 4 years and 6 months and a fine of Rp10 million.*
