Her eighth studio album will be released this Friday

Taylor Swift has announced a new album and it’s out very, very soon

Surprise: Taylor Swift has announced her eighth studio album on Twitter, which goes by the sonorous name FOLKLORE. But it gets even better, because the new album should be released this Friday (July 24th, 2020) at midnight. In view of this news, fans shouldn’t close their eyes with anticipation.

Just one year after LOVER

But wait a minute, didn’t Taylor Swift just release a new album? Right, because LOVER, their seventh full-length player, was released on August 23, 2019 and is therefore not even a year old. A lot of measures and a tour around LOVER were actually planned for this year, but then Corona came, as the 30-year-old singer-songwriter explained.

She didn’t use her free time to mop up, instead, Swift wrote and recorded new music. On Twitter, she writes that although FOLKLORE was created completely in isolation, she was still lucky enough to be able to work with artists such as Aaron Dessner, Bon Iver and William Bowery.

Swift also plans to put a video for the song “Cardigan” online before the album is released. According to Swift, strict hygiene measures were taken when filming the clip:

“The filming was supervised by a medical examiner, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling.”
