Yellow glasses tells the story of a 30-year-old woman who, after a love breakup, moves to a cold apartment surrounded by unpacked boxes and where she faces the small daily conflicts of loneliness.

“It is a story of being lost in life, like looking for answers”said Mora in an interview for this newspaper.

“She has come from abroad, where she has lived with her partner for many years. She is a woman who is reconfiguring who she is. In this process, Julia crosses her path with two Guayaquil residents: Darío (Enzo Macchiavello), an attractive waiter with the airs of a poet, who takes her to meet Ignacio (Alejandro Fajardo), an employee of a photocopier trying to star in a play. “It’s like that from that moment on, the story becomes a love triangle”, says the filmmaker.

Yellow glasses was shot in 2017, one of the main scenarios in which the story unfolds is The Colonial Tola, neighborhood of Quito.

Meanwhile, on the soundtrack the singer’s voice Patricia gonzalez takes a special role, through the bolero Tower and the hall The song of oblivion. “It is the first time that his music is used for cinema”, says a statement from the film. The script was co-written with Isabel carrasco, also a producer of the film; while it is co-produced with Brazil. “It is the first co-production that Ecuador makes with Brazil, for us it was important to create this link with Brazil, which is a powerhouse of cinema, audiovisual in general”said Mora in the last interview.

The film had its first premiere in Festival Cinequest, en Silicon Valley, California, on the official feature film competition.

Its theatrical release is scheduled for October 22 of this year. (AND)
