“Fearless”: New recording for artistic autonomy
“Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” is Swift’s first newly recorded album from her back catalog – the singer announced that she would re-record her complete oeuvre. The original version of “Fearless” was released in 2008.
In an Instagram post on February 11, the musician explains that her label had a major influence on her artistic decisions at the time. Above all, she sees the new recordings of the old albums as an opportunity to emancipate herself one step further with her own concepts as an artist.
Third most successful artist in the UK
Taylor Swift is also currently the third most successful artist in the UK. With her seven number one albums she holds the record after Madonna (12) and Kylie Minogue (8).
