Two stars of the Netflix mega-hit “Squid Game” may soon be seen in a new production on Disney + – the newspaper “The Korea Times” reports.

According to the reports, there are Heo Sung-tae (44) and Kim Joo-ryoung (45) in negotiations with the streaming service Disney + for a new series. Heo Sung-tae is known as the gangster Jang Deok-Su (player 101) in “Squid Game”, Kim Joo-ryoung played the hysterical Han Mi-nyeo (player 212).

This is a K-drama called “King of Savvy” – according to media reports, a kind of crime-thriller-action series that revolves around a casino mogul who is planning to rise again and takes a number of risks in the process. Responsible for the film is Kang Yoon-sung (38), whose work is known from “The Outlaws” (2017), among others. The production budget for the series should be around 14.4 million euros. So far, only one actor has been officially confirmed: Choi Min-sik (59) – a Korean film star who will appear on TV for the first time in 24 years. It is not known what role he will play in this.

Filming for “King Of Savvy” is slated to begin in February 2022. The series is expected to appear on Disney + in 2022. Neither from Heo Sung-tae from Kim Joo-ryoung has so far made a statement about the reports. The South Korean series “Squid Game” made dream numbers on Netflix in 2021 and a topic of conversation all over the world. “Squid Game” is nominated for a Golden Globe Award in the category “Best Drama Series” in 2022 and represents a stepping stone into the international film business for many of the actors (who are already prominent in their home country).
