This is how it continues with the main character Gi-hun in the Netflix hit

Everyone wants to know how the “Squid Game” will continue. In an interview, lead actor Lee Jung-jae spoke about a possibility.

– Attention: Slight spoilers for “Squid Game” will follow –

“Squid Game” is without a doubt the biggest streaming surprise of the year 2021 – not only for Netflix, but across the entire industry. Up until the start, basically nobody had the South Korean survival thriller series by filmmaker Hwang Dong-hyuk on their screen, not even the Netflix executives themselves. And that’s saying something. But in the case of “Squid Game” hardly anyone has considered the factor social networks and in this specific case the importance of TikTok.

You can get “Squid Game”, all other Netflix content and much more cheaply via Sky Q.

Because the secret of success lies, among other things, in the possibility of imitating the children’s games in the series without great effort. And the TikTok users used that for plenty of material, which in turn reached many, especially young people. From a certain point in time, the series became a sure-fire success. Marketing? World famous names? All of this is unnecessary when the machinery is more or less self-oiling.

Now, of course, all fans want to know what happens to player 456, main character Seong Gi-hun, in “Squid Game Season 2”. Leading actor Lee Jung-Jae told People Magazine that he wanted to be surprised:

“I hope there will be some kind of twist. That would be exciting and surprising for me and the audience. If it were predictable, it wouldn’t be fun. I have no idea what will happen or how big it will be, but the only thing that will [Hwang] what told me was that Seong Gi-hun will be back on the show – and that he will play in the arena again. “

The fact that Gi-hun is returning to the death game already indicated the end of the hit series. It was unclear, however, whether he would return as a player or even change sides and be hired as a guard. Ultimately, Gi-Hun’s goal is to find all the masterminds and destroy the mysterious organization from within. But since he will play in the arena and will probably risk his life again under full surveillance, it remains unclear how he will succeed. His goal would only be achievable if he got access behind the scenes. Like policeman Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon). Hwang Dong-hyuk already hinted at this in an interview.

However, fans have to be patient before they receive Season 2 of “Squid Game”. Because nobody expected a success, there were no plans for a second season. Before 2023/2024, there may not be any further consequences. In return, Netflix subscribers expect other, no less exciting series in 2022, as you can see in our video.

“Squid Game”: Season 2 and even Season 3 are under discussion

Just recently, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed that he is definitely working on further episodes:

“There is a lot of pressure and demand for and so much anticipation for a second season. I almost feel like you are giving us no other choice. But I can assure you that there will actually be a second season. I already have them in my head. I am currently in the planning phase. But I also think it’s too early to say when and how it will happen. “

Hwang also revealed to Deadline that there might even be a third season. Netflix definitely wants it, the fans want it, the makers themselves feel obliged to do so. It’s the same with Lee:

“A second season is in some ways inevitable. I remember that I was [Hwang] asked when filming whether there would be a second season; and he said, ‘I don’t think so. That should be very difficult. ‘ But now we cannot allow ourselves not to do one because we have received so much love from all over the world. “
