The spusu Vienna Capitals strengthen their offensive with Matt Bradley.
The 24-year-old Canadian was picked by the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round of the NHL Entry Draft in 2015. In the past three years Bradley has scored an impressive 141 goals in 231 games in the North American ECHL. The striker is expected in Vienna in the next few days.
Strong nose for goal
“Matt is a good ice skater, a right-shooter – we don’t currently have many of them on our offensive – and he has a keen nose for goals. He knows where the opposing box is, as he has proven in recent years. If he has the right team-mates in his line, then he will be able to show his qualities. We are very happy that we were able to sign Matt and of course we hope that we can use him as soon as possible, ”said head coach Dave Barr in a first reaction to the new signing from Vienna.
Full of juice
Matt Bradley is right in the middle of the rhythm, most recently commuting between the Milwaukee Admirals, the Nashville Predators’ farm team in the American Hockey League, and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the ECHL. “When the call came from Vienna, I didn’t have to think long. I’ve only heard great things about the organization of the Vienna Capitals and the city, ”explains Bradley.
261 points in 321 games
Bradley made his way into the notebooks of many scouts with strong stats when he was a junior in the Western Hockey League. The Canadian came to the Medicine Hat Tigers (2014-2017) and the Regina Pats (2017-2018) with an impressive 261 points (116 goals, 145 assists) in 321 games. “I’m a fast striker who likes to take responsibility and who prefers to score goals. Away from the ice rink, I always walk around with a grin – that’s my way of life, ”said the ECHL champion with the Newfoundland Growlers in the 2018/2019 season.
Looking forward to teammates
The spusu Vienna Capitals has followed Bradley intensively in the last few days, since the interest of Austria’s capital city club in his person. Yesterday’s 5-2 home win against Hydro Fehervar AV19, the eighth success in a row on their own ice, did not escape the nimble forward of course. “The results speak for themselves. The team plays good ice hockey. I’m really looking forward to supporting you. “
Water sports as a hobby
Bradley, who feels most comfortable in the cool water in summer and lists all water sports – from surfing to wakeboarding to paddle boarding – as his hobbies, will wear the number “77” at the spusu Vienna Capitals. “The ICE league is a fast, tech-savvy league. I’ve heard that especially in Vienna the fans should be very loud. I’m looking forward to feeling it in my back, ”said Bradley, who is expected in Austria’s capital in the coming days, in conclusion.
