Final Fantasy 16 Director Would Like Players To Test Combat Before Launch

Final Fantasy XVI is on everyone’s lips. If before it was one of the most anticipated games for 2023after seeing the recent State of Play trailer we have the hype through the roof with the new Naoki Yoshida and Square Enix.

For information it will not be, of course. In recent days we have known many details of Final Fantasy 16, from the maturity of its plot or the new combat system, to how it will take advantage of the technical capabilities of PS5.

We will have to wait for the summer of 2023 to try all its novelties… or maybe not. At least, if the decision depends on what Naoki Yoshida wantsdirector and producer of Final Fantasy XVI.

In an interview with Dengeki Online (translated by GamesRadar), Naoki Yoshida has talked about the phases leading up to the release of the title on PS5 and PC. Veteran producer wants gamers to get a taste of combat early.

Blunt and straight to the point, Yoshida assures that “he would like to release a trial version” of Final Fantasy 16. Logically, we are talking about months before the release of the game.

If Final Fantasy XVI arrives on PS5 and PC in the summer of next year, it is possible that a spring demo be a logical scenario. Of course, Yoshida explains that the existence of a demo does not depend on him.

In other words, even though you’d like to demo the game, you’re not committing to making it happen. Everything will depend on the phases of development and the times that Square Enix handles.

Why do you think Yoshida wants to release a demo? In the interview, the producer assures that the combat system is one of the great novelties of the title. Would love for people to be able to try it out before the official release.
