THE The body of the 16-year-old who had been missing since Monday morning in Porto was found this Tuesday afternoon on Praia dos Ingleses, according to a statement from the National Maritime Authority.
According to the note published this evening, “the alert was received at 19:05, through popular”.
The body was spotted in the “surfing area of Praia dos Ingleses beach, and elements of the local Command of the Douro Maritime Police, INEM and the Portuenses Volunteer Firefighters were immediately activated to the site”, the National Maritime Authority also indicates.
The death was declared on the spot by INEM elements and the body transported to the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Porto.
The young woman’s relatives are being supported by the Maritime Police Psychology Office.

Amélie Battle Bastos was 16 years old and disappeared on Monday, the 17th, at 8:15 am, in Porto, Campo Alegre, next to the school she attends – Colégio Alemão do Porto, at Rua Guerra Junqueiro nº 162.
