Obviously, new quarantine regulations will soon be imminent!
The federal and state health ministers recommend isolation after a corona infection for employees in important areas “for the purpose of taking up work” to end after just five days – with a negative PCR test.
Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Health, Petra Grimm-Benne (59), informed about the proposal on Wednesday after a video switch. The SPD politician is currently the chairwoman of the conference of health ministers.
Previously, Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (58, SPD) had proposed a procedure to the health ministers in coordination with the Robert Koch Institute, how isolation and quarantine should be shortened in the case of Omikron virus infections. The procedure provides for a gradual shortening.
This should apply to employees in critical areas
According to the concept, should infected employees in critical areas such as hospitals or electricity suppliers seven days free test with a negative PCR test. (So far, isolation is provided for 14 days.)
▶ ︎ For The contact person should this already in the future after five days to be possible.
This is to avoid a shortage of staff when the number of infections increases in these particularly important areas. This is possible because infected people are less contagious with the Omicron virus variant, argues the Minister of Health.
That should apply to the general public
For the general population, that is true both infected and contact persons without symptoms after seven days free test with a negative PCR test.
▶ ︎ After ten days could you also without test leave isolation or quarantine.
▶ ︎ Children who are contact persons can follow five days end the quarantine with a negative PCR test or a “high quality” rapid test.
▶︎ Contact persons do not have to be in quarantine at all, when they are “boosted”, have received three vaccinations. This also applies if the second vaccination, the end of an illness or the vaccination after the end of an illness was not more than two months ago.
▶ ︎ Particular attention should be paid to the high quality of tests, according to Lauterbach’s concept, which will be the basis for the resolutions of the federal and state governments on Friday.
