They see it as further proof of “The reality of the takeover of the branch of Europe 1 by CNews”. The editors’ society and the inter-union of Europe 1 protested, Tuesday, July 13, in a press release, against a ” take over “ from their antenna by the news channel CNews, whose radio will co-broadcast, on Wednesday, the special program devoted to the celebrations of July 14th.
“It’s while reading a CNews press release (…) that the teams of Europe 1 have learned that a special edition will be offered to listeners of the station on July 14 », hosted by journalists from the news channel, reported these organizations.

Strategic decisions taken “in the offices of Canal +”
Denouncing a total lack of communication from the management of the radio on this co-broadcast, these same organizations (which include the unions SNJ, CGT, CFTC and FO, and the SDR), see it as a “Blatant demonstration” that the strategic decisions concerning their radio are taken, henceforth, “In the offices of Canal +”, the parent company of CNews, unlike the insurance companies of the Lagardère group, owner of Europe 1.
This co-broadcast is one of the first illustrations of the synergies that Europe 1 wants to develop with CNews, with whom it now shares the same main shareholder, Vincent Bolloré.
