Paris: a car hits a terrace in the 17th district, leaving one dead and one seriously injured

A car hit a terrace at rue Guy Môquet, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, this Thursday evening, causing one death and one seriously injured, shortly before 11 p.m., according to firefighters. The accident occurred at the Aux Sports bar, rue Guy-Môquet.

According to a police source, this is a road accident caused by a refusal of priority at the corner of rue Sauffroy and rue Guy-Môquet. The incriminated vehicle, a Peugeot which was driving at full speed according to witnesses, would have strongly collided with another car, which was then deported on the permanent terrace of the Parisian bar.

The vehicle causing the accident is still there, but the driver is said to have fled on foot. He is currently wanted by the police.
