Sérgio Conceição’s appeal rejected – FC Porto

Technician will now be able to appeal to the TAD for the 15-day suspension

The appeal filed by FC Porto on the 15-day suspension punishment applied to Sérgio Conceição, found out Record. Sanctioned with that punishment by the Disciplinary Council (CD) last week, for his statements after the match with Belenenses SAD about refereeing in February of this year, the technician had resorted to the full CD, and the decision was taken today. Exhausted the possibilities of appeal within the instance, the punishment automatically enters into compliance, so the coach will not be on the bench this Wednesday, in front of Rio Ave, unless a possible injunction from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAD) acceptance is given until the kick-off of the match. Both the FC Porto coach and Francisco J. Marques resorted to the full CD of the previous sanctions, which, in the case of Conceição, also resulted in a fine of 7,650 euros, and the FC Porto communication right resulted in 45 days of suspension and the same 7,650 euros fine. The blue and white SAD was also sanctioned with the payment of 8,160 euros.

Sérgio Conceição and the 15-day suspension: «It was fast, the calendar year hasn't ended...»

The appeal was dismissed, and the contested disciplinary decision was confirmed. The dragons will now appeal to the TAD of this decision, which, if confirmed, will remove the coach from the next meetings, namely the classics with Benfica. It is very likely that, in addition to the appeal, FC Porto will also deliver an injunction, so that, for as long as the process lasts, Conceição can continue, if accepted, to sit in the bench of substitutes.
