Cidra – The eleventh massacre so far this year was registered last night in front of the La Lomita business located on Los Oliques street in the Certenejas neighborhood in this town, the Police reported.
The assistant director of the Caguas Criminal Investigation Corps, Harry Solivan Diaz, explained that at around 11:49 pm a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System reported several detonations in front of the aforementioned grocery store and upon arrival the agents found four men killed and two wounded.
“We are practically in the investigation stage, but we can anticipate that While the victims were on the outskirts of the business, two vehicles arrived and from these two vehicles they fired shots”, Explained the lieutenant.
On how the events unfolded and under what motive, Solivan Díaz indicated that, for the moment, said information is not specified.
However, he stressed that from the preliminary information they have collected, it appears that the owner’s birthday was celebrated in the grocery store and there were a considerable number of people, so they are betting on completing interviews with witnesses.

He added that at the scene they found four firearms that were at the waist or near the bodies of the deceased.
“From what I was able to observe they are pistols,” said the lieutenant about the type of firearms. At the moment, he did not specify how many shell casings were recovered at the scene.
In addition, although it was not categorical, Solivan Díaz pointed out that it appears from the scene that an exchange of gunshots may have occurred between the victims and their attackers.
“From what we can see at the scene we can understand that there was an exchange of shots”, he limited.
Solivan Díaz indicated, at the same time, that they will continue to conduct interviews and evaluate the footage from security cameras that are near the scene of the events.
“We have a working group with an immediate response initiative. Intelligence personnel from San Juan and Guayama who are working on this information were activated, “he said.
