In times of rapid civilization development, concern for ecology becomes more and more important. Man often has a destructive effect on the planet, and many experts emphasize that this is the last call to change something. As a mother, I started to act more consciously in this direction, because I would like my children to feel safe and not be afraid for the future of the environment. Today I will show you how I myself try to introduce small but important changes in my environment 🙂
No food waste
The scary thing is how many tons of food are wasted in homes each day. Unfortunately, we buy more and more without thinking about whether we really need it. My way is planning! Before going to the store, I always prepare a shopping list, so I know exactly what I want to buy and in what quantities, and no product is wasted. I also buy online more and more, which allows me to avoid impulse purchases. If you are using my application Diet & Training by Ann is a ready-made shopping list with the necessary amount of ingredients you can generate in a few seconds, which prevents you from buying an excessive number of food products. However, if there are leftovers after lunch or dinner, I always try to be creative in the kitchen by preparing completely new dishes, so that the food does not end up in the garbage can.
2. Shopping with your own bag
Grocery stores generate huge amounts of plastic bags in which we pack the purchased products. Often they are used only once and then discarded. Unfortunately, this material takes up to 1000 years to decompose, which is why it is a huge contamination of our planet for a long time. For this reason, I always have my own fabric bag with me, which has its place at the exit door, so that I will never forget about it 🙂
3, Material pouches for fruit and vegetables
When shopping in a grocery store or local market, I always ask the seller to throw larger products, such as cauliflower or broccoli, in bulk into my bag. On the other hand, I pack small fruits and vegetables, for example cherry tomatoes, in reusable cloth bags, so I do not use plastic bags, which I would have a lot of after a single purchase.
4. Waste segregation
I have been caring for waste segregation for a long time. Not only at home, but also in the city, at friends’ houses or wherever it is possible to separate paper from glass, plastic and organic waste. I also make my children used to segregation – so that it would be completely natural for them not to throw everything into one garbage can.
5. Conserving energy and water
Another habit that I implement in my whole family is turning off the light every time we leave the room. I use daylight whenever possible – it is not only better for the environment, but also healthier for the eyes. In addition, it is also worth taking care of saving water, e.g. by twisting it while brushing teeth, which should be remembered not only by adults but also by children 🙂
6. Respect for nature
I try to take care of nature with small steps, introducing positive changes in my projects. Together with my team, we take care of, among other things, that the packaging Phlov cosmetics came from recyclable materials: glass, BIO-PET and sugar cane. At SuperMenu, we cooperate with a producer of completely ecological me.Organic trays, which are 100% compostable. However, recently releasing a box with lifetime access to the Diet & Training by Ann application for sale, we made sure that each purchase was associated with planting a tree, and the packaging was made of paper pulp, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), containing wood material from responsibly managed forests and sawmills.
7. Educating and inspiring others
The future of our planet depends on how many people are involved in environmental protection activities. It is easiest to start with your loved ones by setting a good example – for example cleaning up after yourself in the forest, park or at a picnic. I am sure that the kids will soon start imitating your actions 😉
I hope that the above list encouraged you to pay attention to introducing even minor changes to yourselves to take better care of the environment. We can do a lot with our daily choices! Let’s share our knowledge with family, friends and relatives, and the chances of improving the condition of our planet will be even greater. Do you also try to care for the environment? Maybe this is one of your New Year’s resolutions?
