Destination design conference, 15 and 16 December in Jesolo the development of destinations in an innovative, inclusive and sustainable key

It will take place on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 December 2021 in Jesolo (VE), in the spaces of the Kursaal Congress Center, la Destination Design Conference 2021: two days of discussion, reflection and high-level training for the decision makers of the destinations.

At the center of the event, which has future scenarios as its main theme, there is an idea of ​​destination as an expression of the community and resources of a place. The protagonists of the tourist offer, a fundamental lever of territorial development, are no longer only the operators, but also citizens, landscape, social and cultural dimension, induced. However, for a territory to become a tourist destination it is essential to have a governance strategy. This will be the starting point and fil rouge of the DEDE.CO 2021, which will focus attention on the principles, mechanisms, rules and relationships necessary for an effective management of the destination, comparing national and international models of success.

The conference opens on Wednesday 15 December with a first session dedicated to Strategic Plan of Veneto Tourism. Product innovation, digital innovation, hospitality and human capital, communication and promotion of the Veneto tourist offer are the thematic focuses of the presentation of the consultation work carried out for the drafting and updating of the Plan.

The heart of the afternoon session are the “Models of governance, policies and applications”. Some best practices of national destinations, such as Arezzo, Bologna and the Dolomites, and international ones demonstrate the importance of governance models for the implementation of destination management & marketing strategies.

The day of Thursday 16 December then addresses the theme of “Regional governance tools “, with particular reference to innovative and open tourism intelligence systems. From big data to Destination Management Systems, the Italian regions are gearing up to become data driven.

“Territory and destination: integrated development approaches” is the title of the fourth and final session. Sustainability, accessibility and the third sector are the keywords to approach destination design in a contemporary, inclusive and innovative way. The session is enriched by the practical advice offered by ASViS (Alliance for Sustainable Development) and by the experience of the Tourism4All project of the Veneto Region, for tourism accessible to all.

Evolution of the Travel marketing days, which took place for five editions from 2016 to 2020, the Destination Design Conference is organized by De.De Destination Design – business network made up of Itur, Ideazione and Studiowiki, three companies with different skills to strengthen and grow tourist destinations – and Wikiacademy – study center of Studiowiki, a communication agency associated with UNA (United Communications Companies).
