Expedia Group unifies loyalty programs

With over 145 million subscribers to its existing and independent loyalty programs, Expedia Group has one of the largest loyalty platforms in the world. The company announced plans to unify and expand the offering to include all brands and products so Expedia Group customers can soon enjoy the industry’s most comprehensive travel rewards offering. The program will consist of member discounts and the ability to earn and redeem rewards on all Expedia Group brands, such as Expedia, Vrbo, Hotels.com, Travelocity and Orbitz. The new program will include flights, hotels, vacation rentals, car rentals, cruises and other activities.

“Everything we do is put at the service of our customers, in this way we create travel products and services that are easy to use and above all rewarding for those who travel with us,” said Jon Gieselman, president of Expedia Brands. “We want our customers to get the most out of their travel experiences, simply and clearly. No one is required to do anything right now, but their current rewards will soon be even more valuable as they gain access to the world of Expedia Group through one consolidated, easy-to-use program. “

To date, Expedia Group’s Member Only Deals and loyalty rewards have saved customers nearly $ 10 billion (approximately € 8.5 billion) on travel alone. The company plans to take advantage of the great benefits currently found in all Expedia Group loyalty offers, such as member pricing, reward incentives, upgrades and perks offered at thousands of properties around the world.

The unified and updated program will continue to be free. Current members and anyone interested in joining will be greeted with a seamless experience once the new program is up and running. All current members will continue to earn rewards through their existing programs and will be able to count on more flexibility in the future.
