Fano and Ascoli Piceno host Laura Morante in Medea

Laura Morante

A splendid one Laura Morante returns to the Marche in the guise of Medea of Euripides and will be staged on Tuesday 10 August in the former Church of San Francesco in Fano, and immediately after 11 and 12 August at the Roman Theater of Ascoli Piceno, accompanied by Davide Alogna on the violin and Giuseppe Gullotta on the piano to music by Chopin, Franck, Prokofiev.
Lo spectacle, with the adaptation of the text by the actress herself and directed by Daniele Costantini, is produced and distributed exclusively by AidaStudio Produzioni, a creation, production and distribution company directed by Elena Marazzita.
Euripides with Medea represents the unspeakable and unrepresentable of the human heart in its deepest folds and in its darkest and hidden parts, where passion and reason mix and merge without it being possible to separate them, where logic, which has become paralogism, saves the honor because it saves appearances, but obeys the injunctions of a dark force, where absolute bewilderment is combined with extreme lucidity. Medea is truly human in the complexity of her character: she is a woman of extraordinary rationality but also of extreme passion and the multiplicity of gestures is the result of the different and changing relationship of forces between rational needs and emotional needs. He fixes all his existential energy in Jason’s love until it overwhelms every conscience of good and evil, and kills.

The three evenings of the Medea are proposed within the TAU / Teatri Antichi Uniti circuit, a precious meeting place between the archaeological riches of the Marche region and the entertainment contents that for 23 years has been a flagship of the national scene, and which presents itself for the 2021 edition with 38 appointments in 18 different and enchanting archaeological sites of the region, on the initiative of the Marche Region with AMAT, MiC, Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of the Marche and the Municipalities of the Marche region.
