Praino released his debut EP, Monsters, owls, per Mom Discs and distributed by Believe.
Praino has brought to light Monsters, owls while the outside world – along with billions of thin layers of the human psyche – was suddenly changing.
The Calabrian singer-songwriter, but transplanted to Bologna, relies on the need, which is very dear to him, to re-emerge from the emotional shell.
Multi-instrumentalist – he plays drums, guitar and bass – Praino he writes and plays for need, he records and records in the cellar, in his songs no sound is ever left to chance.
Monsters, owls it is a tortuous sound and narrative path but, at the same time, comfortable and recognizable, harsh and sweet like candy, made up of long silences alone and a big mess around. Rough and angular sounds, not usual but refined, which are not lost in too many kindnesses.
Praino tells:
“Each record is born first of all in the mind, from there it passes to the practical execution, but before getting there it overcomes a thousand filters and insecurities, here, this record is born from those insecurities, it draws strength from them. It was conceived and played alone in a set up cellar, everything started from the sounds with which I grew up, as a drummer and listener, grunge, the Italian alternative trend, and also the desire to sound like the first times as a boy. . So this sound, visual and narrative path that has been mine up to now is going to belong to everyone, I’m happy about it “.
