Mobrici Taxi drivers at night

Speaking of the single – written during a night taxi ride – Furniture comments:

Many times I happen to write songs by pure chance. If I hadn’t done that thing, if I hadn’t gone to that place at that time I would never have written it. This is an aspect that pushes me to love and madly hate what I do.

Night taxi drivers were born like this, at 4 in the morning, in a taxi that takes me home from the dock, about 20 minutes by road. I often get into night taxis, driven by mythological figures who in a sense save your life. They are great observers, they have crazy stories and sometimes you can see loneliness in their eyes from the mirrors.

During that journey I wrote all the text on the phone, and as soon as I got home, I sat down at the piano and at dawn it was ready. I am a little cooked but almost happy.

The taxi drivers of the night are those who know them well
With a holy card in hand with a lit cigarette
And a truncheon in self-defense
Night taxi drivers have been working for thirty years
I don’t like this city anymore I don’t recognize it anymore
And you know what I do that tomorrow I give up everything and go away

And they always return home alone
And they always return home alone
Like me, like me, like me
Like me, like me, like me

Hi my name is Gigi where do you need to go?
Where have you been to a party since 98 that I don’t go there

Night taxi drivers who are better than heroists
Of the flat-earthers my friend hold on
I am your last run and then you can walk away

And they always return home alone
And they always return home alone
Like me, like me, like me
Like me, like me, like me

Girl still dressed at night
Look out, the world distorts
What thoughts do you have
Boy how come your eyes are bright?
Where did you come from? Do you still think of her?
And they always return home alone
And they always return home alone
Like me, like me, like me
Like me, like me, like me
