Elon Musk: SpaceX is Sending First Crew to Mars in Two Weeks, But is This Real?

Elon Musk revealed that SpaceX will be sending the First Crew to Mars for its mission amidst the testing of the Starship and Super Heavy Booster rocket. This comes after the news that China is sending its first crew to Mars in 2033. SpaceX will go up against them in the race to the Red Planet with this.

SpaceX is gearing up for its full-stack test to know the Starship and Super Heavy Booster capabilities as it launches for its actual flights in the coming years. Starship SN15 has already achieved landing maneuver success, but Super Heavy is yet to show its features and capabilities.

Twitter fans have asked Elon Musk about his plans for the first crew sent to Mars and when his plans would be. The surprising answer of the SpaceX CEO seems somewhat farfetched.

According to Musk (@elonmusk), he would be sending the first crew to Mars in “Two weeks,” which somehow does not make any sense as they are only in the phase of testing out their rockets and boosters. Moreover, there are no guarantees that the Super Heavy Booster would have a successful landing with the crane that would catch it.

Not many people have questioned the CEO, and not many were not surprised that he said that, even in the immediacy of the answer that Musk gave, despite being sudden. Also, there was no confirmation as to what crew would be sent up to the interworld expedition because there may be other forms of a crew like robots and such.

What the Twitter user was about was an actual human crew for SpaceX’s Mars mission.

Is This Real?

Musk is infamous for saying or claiming something on social media and sometimes does not follow up on it or fails to deliver. Still, the CEO is also known for having what he said to be accurate to his companies. So there is no concrete answer to this as of this moment, especially as SpaceX is only in the testing phase of its upcoming full-stack flight.

China’s First Crew to Mars in 2033

The question of SpaceX’s first crew to Mars was because China announced the first crew to Mars in 2033, to which Musk replied “Epic” to it. The CEO has always been supportive of space advancements. It did not matter much to him if it would be done by China, even if it has always been the rival of the United States in many modern advancements.

This would surely be a massive achievement, especially as the Asian country has already sent its Zhurong rover. The rover is focused on getting the most data it can on Mars at the moment.
